Wanda A. Dickerson,a professional business woman that owns and operates Jana’s Unique Hair Salon with her daughter, Atiya Johnson. As a young child, Wanda spent most of her time in a salon in Philadelphia and later decided to attend Wilfred Academy Hair and Beauty School in Philadelphia, PA. Currently, she is licensed in two states, which include New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She is a firm believer of having a family-owned business that strives to please all consumers and clients.

Atiya Johnson has spent over 13 years in the cosmetology field. She is a healthy hair fanatic who loves what she does. Specializing in everything from hair care, make up, hair styling to hair cutting, coloring and more. She considers herself to be a haircare specialist or doctor.

As a passionate stylist, Atiya enjoys making others look good and feel confident, while educating them on how to maintain healthy hair. In addition to educating her clients on maintaining healthy hair, she also has mastered many weaving techniques.

Atiya says, “You have to love what you do . I get to make a difference in peoples’ lives everyday, just by making them look and feel good. There is no greater pleasure than that.”

Latisee Watson has been a licensed stylist for 10 years and is also assistant manager at the salon. Latisee specializes in natural hair care and styling, but her passion is the artistry of locs and loc extensions. She soon will be creating her own natural line of hair care products. She also hopes to finish her book written about locs and its maintenance.

Kiamarae S.Mathes has been in the field of hair care for seven years now. She became a member of Jana’s Unique Hair Salon in 2006. Kia is a very creative person and loves to keep her clients happy. She graduated from Empire Beauty School in 2006, at the top of her class and was known for her outgoing personality. Everyday, Kia learns new technique to master her craft.

Although she specializes and is known for her talents in hair braiding. Kia is also capable of satisfying the needs of any customer. Being able to supply all clients with the knowledge and tools to not only keep, but to maintain healthy hair, exemplifies the love and passion that she has for hair. Kia believes in a rapidly growing industry, you must be able to provide your clients with an experience like no other. So, here at Jana’s we are determined to give you the overall experience from the time you step in, until the time you step out!
